Traveling performance still sucks. I understand loading resources takes some computing cycles, but can't you put them on background threads and spread the compute power to the game and loading? It just is horrible to have a great FPS and then in the middle of traveling it drops to single digits for a completely unplayable experience. If it is possible I try to put the game in pause mode to let the FPS recover and once it is back up to decent FPS continue on. But that is not always convenient and to have single digit FPS for 10 to 30 seconds while resources load is crap.
