Running as a tourist, first game, got as far as trying to put down a transformer next to the workshop, it simply shows as red when placing, no error message, nothing. I have all the materials, I've tried lots of different terrain positions. Very frustrating as obviously i'm at a dead end and can't play!.You could also do with screen shot uploading with bug reports like this.
