Regarding the cost rebalancing for building construction:
If the Martian environment becomes too easy to build on with very low costs, this could harm one of the main parts that makes the game interesting: the challenge and the journey of building bases.
An alternative to please diverse audiences would be to add the possibility of choosing the difficulty level for building structures, both in story mode and campaign mode, where the amount of resources needed would correspond to the chosen difficulty (similar to the other difficulty settings in sandbox mode). In this way, more or less experienced players would benefit from another choice to suit their gameplay preferences.
